Today was very significant for Native Praise Choir. We sang Muscogee Creek hymns at a Creek Hymn Singing at Wetumka Indian Baptist Church. It was extremely hot, but that did not seem to dampen the work of the Holy Spirit.
Everyone drank lots of water, & given the old-fashioned hand fans, & just kept on singing. We closed with the traditional fellowship handshake & the Creek Dismissal Hymn on the church lawn. I had not participated in the handshake since I was a young girl. It brought back a flood of wonderful memories. I know, without question, that I heard the voices of my mom & dad, singing from Heaven. Thank you to the ministers who spoke, & to the many who came. - Augusta Smith |
