Memories of 2014 for The Native American LINK, Inc.
“Bless the Lord, O My Soul…worship His Holy Name….” Psalm 103 10,000 Reasons (Bless the Lord) by Matt Redman. The lyrics, “Sing like never before, O my soul, I’ll worship your holy name,” says it all. God gave us a new day dawning, even in the midst of great sorrow this year, as our Native American LINK family had to bid farewell to our beloved Willene Pierce, in March, 2014. The LINK family continues to receive His affirmation, time & again & He always upholds us, “rich in love, and with a heart that is kind, which gives us 10,000 reasons for our hearts to find.” We celebrate Jesus. BLESS Beginnings - Willene predicted that when Gus was appointed as Director of LINK, that we would begin receiving invitations from more of our tribes to serve in the field. Willene spoke confidently of this. Her vision came to fruition, as we traveled to Alabama, first with the Creeks, then again, with the Creeks, Chickasaws, and Cherokees, and so many more, just this year! Then, answered prayer came to us, as we assisted with the Western Oklahoma tribes in their family camp. Eight salvations! Lead - Wherever He Leads I’ll Go. Together, Laura Mackey & Willene made it look easy, but it’s not. They made it look easy because they so enjoyed the ride. I (Gus - LINK Director/Choir Coordinator) am learning what a tremendous responsibility it is, to lead in a ministry such as this. It can be very taxing & very wearisome, (& yes, lonely, at times) but the rewards of seeing God at work, and even witnessing miracles, far outweigh any physical woes. I answered God’s leading to direct this ministry, & I have never felt more certain that I am where He needs me most. Thank you, Laura, for your ever-present support & leadership, as president, Martha Johnson, our prayer warrior and Vice President, Norma Lee as secretary, and of course, Mike Smith, as treasurer. Enjoy - Enjoy laughter today, Enjoy friendship today, Enjoy the beauty of God’s Handiwork, Enjoy the family God gave you, Enjoy your Christian families, far & wide, Enjoy each day that God gives you. It brings me back to the song, 10,000 Reasons (Bless the Lord), “The sun comes up, it’s a new day dawning. It’s time to sing Your Song again.” What a joy to sing of Him every single day, yes, no matter what lies before us! Sisters - The LINK Board of Directors sisters represent nine Native American tribes. The Native Praise Choir sisters represent 19 tribes. Sisters in Christ for whom we have had the privilege of meeting and have immediately referred to as “sisters” because of our kindred spirits in service to the Lord. “Sisters” who are not only Native American, but are, “all the children of the world.” Sing - Sing. The Native Praise Choir has sung, more than ever before. The Native Praise Choir has sung, with such urgency, that the world may experience a glimpse of what it is to know of Jesus & His Amazing Grace. Singing Christmas Carols in native tongue, witnessing to new faces, we rejoice in the Christ child. Sing with us, as we sing, “And on that day when my strength is failing, the end draws near and my time has come. Still my soul will sing Your praise unending, Ten thousand years, and then, FOREVERMORE!. Happy New Year - 2015 Leave a Reply. |
